Hey Chris, My name is Harlan Jacobs.I just found your blog. VERY impressive ! I am 50 years old , have done 525 bench, won north America's strongest man over 40 in 2000, closed the #3 with both hands( certified) I have now started bending. Wow, depressing ! I got a 60d yesterday for the first time. so it is coming along.I also have tried card tearing.I suck at that !!! But I am going to work on it. You are an inspiration. Keep up the good stuff
Thank you. Very nice list of accomplishments you have there yourself.
Bending a 60 d is nothing to be depressed about, it has been the mark of a traditional strongman for many, many decades. The steadfastness that got you to the 60 can take you to the card tearing as well, stick with it - it will come.
Glad to hear that I inspire and motivate you! Thank you for the feedback.
It is hard to say what you have. I have had some of the galvanized 60's from there be average, and some others were quite stout. I have even come accross some other 60 D's that felt as strong as a Red. Next step is to try out some 1/4" x 6" grade 5 hex head bolts. If you want to talk about this in more depth send me an email at: chris@strongmanchrisrider.com

The 60d I have are from Lowes and are galvanized. Are those easy ones are hard ones ? I did a 1/4 carriage bolt today. I was a bit easier than the 60.
